PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nonwoven fabric hardly generating the peeling
between layers and the curling of a laminate, even when laminated to wet-made paper and
subjected to a craping processing treatment, by partially integrally heat- pressing the web
of specific sheath-core conjugate filaments.
SOLUTION: This nonwoven fabric is obtained by melt-spinning an aromatic polyester such
as polyethylene terephthalate as a core component and a polyolefin such as polyethylene
containing 0.1-5wt.% of a hydrophilizing agent such as the mixture of a sodium 15C alkyl
sulfonate with stearyl monoethanolamine as a sheath component into sheath-core
conjugate filaments, cooling the spun filaments with cold wind, simultaneously taking off the
filaments with an ejector, opening the taken filaments, collecting the opened filaments on a
moving conveyer, and subsequently integrally heat-pressing the formed filament web
without a grooved heat roll so as to partially adhere the sheath components to each other.
The obtained nonwoven fabric has a bending resistance of <50mm in the longitudinal
direction, an area shrinkage rate of <3% at 120A°C and a shrinkage rate of 0.5% in the
latitudinal direction at 120A°C.
